Bugs and mistakes

Description

Hello, here they are:
1. After some time of playing, maybe a few years or so, I noticed that all AI Empires has stopped developing. They just do nothing serious, while there is many systems around them with the planets suitable to colonization (theirs basic planet types).
2. When AI's resourses expires, they do nothing to get it back while I saw many of their planets rich in minerals with another types of facilities constructed which could be scrapped to build on its place minerals factorys. After a time, they loose all of their ships because of maintainance and now there are only a lot of unprotected planets in the whole quadrant.
3. When I tryed to put some ships, fully supplyed and ordinanced, into the fleet, next turn every of them was out of ordinance.
4. When I launche fighters on global map I can't recover them back through the "launch/recover units" menue, but only through the "cargo transfer" one.
5. Bomblet missiles. They must have a great range by their description, but in fact every time I was using it vs fighers, it started shooting as it had 4-5 of range, while it seems to be acting correctly vs seekers.
6. Maybe I'm wrong but I have an impression that all point defence wepon is aiming at the one single incoming seeker at the same time while there are many another seekers incoming.
7. AI don't analise opponent's ships configuration. I was keeping the warp point all the time with the ship which was having long range missiles on its board. Every time computer tryed to take it with the same ship design (multiple uranium cannons), every time was failed, and every time tryed to do the same after constructing the same ships instead of researching point defence technology. This situation was repeating many years in a row, he could research it even with the basic level of research points.
8. The resource converter is not functionning. Nothing is happening after I click "Ok".
9. Some AI empires never answers.
10. Not a bug actually but a serious mistake of yours - wrong numbers in weapon mounts. I explain, in short, you have made the following:
Large mount: +50% of size, +150% of damage: Huge mount: +100% of size, +250% of damage, and Massive mount: +200% of size, +450% of damage.
Let's suppose for easy count the weapon which requires 100 kt of space and gives 100 points of damage in normal mount.
Large mount: 150 kt with 250 damage, Huge mount: 200 kt with 350 damage, and Massive mount: 300 kt with 550 damage.
The difference between Large mount and normal mount is 150 damage for 50 kt;
The difference between Huge mount and Large mount is 100 damage for 50 kt;
The difference between Massive mount and Huge mount is 200 damage for 100 kt (or also 100 damage for each 50 kt);

To show you more clearly let's take the first suitable number, which is divisible for every mount, it is 600 kt .
In 600 kt we can put 6 units of weapon of normal mount (100 kt), it will be 6 * 100 = 600 points of damage.
In 600 kt we can put 4 units of weapon of Large mount (150 kt), it will be 4 * 250 = 1000 points of damage.
In 600 kt we can put 3 units of weapon of Huge mount (200 kt), it will be 3 * 350 = 1050 points of damage.
In 600 kt we can put 2 units of weapon of Massive mount (300 kt), it will be 2 * 550 = 1100 points of damage.

Do you see what I mean? If the answer is "no", I will help you - look up to the difference between Large mount and normal mount, then to the difference between Massive, Huge mounts and Large mount - it is almost absent. There is no any sense to research anything beyoung Large mount.

11. Also not a bug, but another very important thing - the mainainance cost for the ships is too high, anyway, with "finite resourses" option enabled. It is not real that every month every ship needs a quarter of it's construction cost. I have an impression all of them are sloppily built.Smiling Really, this number must be ten times less at least or there won't be any great fleet battles at all.

You should be warning new users about the absence of "edit post" option, I thought "report new bug" will be an e-mail to administration, not the post to the forum. Smiling If I knew I didn't leave vulnerable for spammers my boxes. Smiling
