Drones: Screwey or Broken?

OK, I'm starting to go nuts and I think I've seen threads over this before...

Has anyone else noticed that drones are screwey in the way they apply ramming damage? Occasionally, a single drone will do lots more damage than it should (not helped by warheads being WAY overpowered in stock), and in groups, things get REALLY wierd. One drone (and one drone only) out of a flight will impact, but its as iff 2 or 3 times the total flight actually impacted. The rest of the flight will just hang around, frozen(maybe a bug).

So, anyone else done some experiments and figured out when and how this wierdness occcurs? It seems random, and unpredictable... and just plane screwey.
