Are ministers working in 1.08? |
I have been using the minister options: Ministers Control Newly Built Ships; Ministers Control All Existing Ships; Construction: Planetary; Ships: Colony Ships; and Ships: Population Transports. However, the ministers didn't do anything. Frieghters and colony ships floated around my homeworld for turns on end, and new colonies sat around being generaly unproductive. So it seems to me that the ministers are not actualy working, or at best that the roles of the ministers have changed and that I don't understand the changes. In SE:IV, there were ministers labeled as Facility Construction, which I assume is now Contruction: Planetary; and Colonization, which I am asuming is now Ships: Colony Ships. I could be wrong on both counts, but that would seem to mean that those two options have been disabled, and that would be mean.
Anyone having ministers work/not work for them?

Migration better than pop minister?
I find with migration there is much less need to manually moving around population unless you might have a domed colony you wanted to fill faster.

Minister No-Shows
I am patched to 1.08. I have attempted to use the Intelligence and the Population ships ministers. The population redistribution worked extremely well in SEIV. Neither of these seem to do anything at all. I executed the Intelligence minister for incompetence and reset my intel to a defensive stance and no problems. The poopulation is poopey! Nothing! Siberia for that guy!
I hope this is fixed in the next patch.
annnd: I have th same problem when the overall minister style is set differently. That does not seem to be it.
