How do You mine with a Ship |
I have a large freighter, with 3 robot miners on it, was created with the auto desighn function as a miner. I have tried at an asteroid belt and a planet(not occupied). I see an icon on the upper left of the ship that says, .. this unit is remote minning). After several turns I have checked the cargo hold, I see the supplies. I have 0 of 12000kt in cargo hold. It does not seem to be loading anything into cargo. I am guessing the minerals (using a mineral robo miner), should be loading into cargo hold. I could use some information, what I am I not doing to doing wrong.

Aside from the robo-miners,
Aside from the robo-miners, what components do you have to have on a ship to make remote mining work?
Nada.
I think the ship needs to have supplies for the miner to work, but other than that nothing.

Which tech gives the robot
Which tech gives the robot miner component? I can't build robot miner at the start of the game
Awnser
Just bring your recource techs to level 10
Resource extraction does at tl10+

Thanks!
Thanks!
If you are in a system
If you are in a system without a space port, do you have to transport the minerals back to a system with one?
Thanks,

Remote Mining
Remote mining bypasses the normal space port requirements.

Remote mining(by default)
Remote mining(by default) also lowers the value of the Asteroids/planets, so bear that in mind.
on which point
If you wait till you can build planets you can get some rely corking resource worlds 150-200% across the board if you leave the asteroids alone

Mining
Minerals from remote mining go straight into your empire's treasury- you don't have to transport them yourself.
