Atmospheric Converters |

I just got to level 21 of Planetary Utilization and, much to my surprise, it ends there. This would be O.K., except that means the fastest time to convert atmospheres is 9.5 years. That's a long time, especially since by the time I got the technology I hadn't even been in game 9.5 years.
In SE:IV, the fastest time to convert a planet was either .5 or 1 years, I can't quite remember. Either way, this is a vast difference.
In my checking this problem in the data files, I noticed in a lot of places there will be things like: 550 + (([%Level%] - 1) * 50
Why not write it as 500 + [%Level%] * 50 and save the script parser some time?

I could have sworn it was 5.5 years pre 1.08, but in any case just increase the maximum level of Planet Utilisation in the TechAreas file.

Let me just 2nd that motion in the strongest of ways possible.
mod != solution
Sure, there are "mods" that some people will want and some people will not want, but if there are "balancing" issues that have a great majority of support, they definitely should be moved into the stock build at some point.

Okay okay okay, I am the one who said the "M" word, but not because I think modding should be the solution, but rather because this is game ruining problem for me if it isn't changed. My main strategy and joy in the game is terraforming and climate modification.
Please, don't let the "M" word drown out Reaper's thread. 9.5 years is typically a whole game... which essentially takes terraforming out of the game.

One simple question, what happens if you build 2 or 3 or more converter?
But it is true, 95 turns are to many.
A second thing I do not like is:
Why does the planet size do not affect it? A small planet is as fast converted as a huge one!

95 turns is FAR from a whole game... if I'm even beggining my second conquer phase at 95 turns (on a small map) something REALLY wierd is going on.

If this isn't officially patched, then we need a mod for this. 9.5 years is too long... I'd much prefer more seIVish atmospheric conversion times BUT also yielding a randomly bad climate for low level atmospheric converters.
