I got SE5 via the STEAM platform. I believe it installs the same files as the retail version.
Whenever I start up SE5, it gives a "DATA FILE ERROR" and the file it points to is HelpText.txt in the Data directory of SE5. Then a whole list of "Cound not find field "Dlg Game Setup ?Multiplayer 1] Name" in Re" and I am unable to see the rest of the line. Could my txt file be corrupted?
Could someone maybe send me a copy of their HelpText.txt to my email at
Or advise me what the problem is?

Ok. Problem solved. It was the language on my system's regional settings that was not set to English. Hmmmm.
