Re: Decided Superiority II
Number of players? With the galaxy size I'm assuming 6 to 8.
Re: Decided Superiority II
Yes, in previous game we had enough space for 10 players on medium map. Since I and Chireox started far away from others, 2 more players can be added. More space only brings problems, because it consumes too much time to control 10-15 systems empire.
Re: Decided Superiority II
Depends on the player. In the first Astockgame I had 2/3 of a large map with over 300 planets and it took me less than an hour to do each turn (without ministers).

Re: Decided Superiority II
My personal record is something like 20 hours for a single turn - though it's because I had to replace a player in a fairly advanced game, and test a LOT of ship designs in the simulator.

Re: Decided Superiority II
In the long term huge fleets are not really constrained by your construction speed, but rather by your ability to mantain them. So fleets of hundreds ships are pretty common in BM too. Talk about a headache when you need to organise them in task forces!
Re: Decided Superiority II
I'm cursed with a computer that crashes if I play a turn for too long. I'll have to find some way of handling things rather than spend an hour micromanaging. I might have to use ministers. That won't be untill I have a large empire though, otherwise I just work out what to do, start my turn and rush through everything.
Re: Decided Superiority II
I tried that in my curent large game. The AI took over my turn and it may have been the reason the game glitched for a turn or two.

Re: Decided Superiority II
Hey Andrey,
I'd like to join this game, but it would be my first multiplayer game. So far I've been playing against the AI, but I want some real opposition. So I'd need some explaning.
I'm now playing with version 1.74. How do I install Balance mod 1.16?
And how does the entire MP thing work? I've never played a MP turn-based game like this.

Re: Decided Superiority II
The game started several days ago.

Re: Decided Superiority II
Even with "AI controls empire in player's absence" unchecked? This could be a major problem!
I practically always save my game before sending it to PBW, but I don't remember this kind of problem happening to me...
Re: Decided Superiority II
I had in fact forgotten to turn off the AI, so perhaps it will make a difference if I actually had it off (something by the way I always intend but I guess it had just slipped my mind). I did my turn and at the end saved it before finishing. There was then a glitch and when we redid the turn I merely opened the saved turn and finished it off. There was then the same glitch, or something similar. I could try it with the AI turned off but I don't want to inconvenience the other players and mess up the agme again just to be sure. Maybe I could try it with a small game like this one.
Actually I think I did try it in another game. Saved the turn and then made a little change to see if it stuck. I don't think it stuck.
Re: Decided Superiority II
Most games should require this.
