Re: Fan fiction
This is my first setion:
THE STORY OF THE NOVA TERRA Star Empire
Part 1
The Return 2400.1
Praetor Thadius XVI looked out the window of the Praetor’s Pride. The huge space station (by the current standards) was the first space yard capable of building any vessel larger then a shuttle. From the inside, the station was practically a palace, but from the outside it was bulky and misshapen. A long cable connected it (via space elevator) to Imperial Space Command far below. The leader of the greatest nation that humanity had seen so far focused on the matter at hand. He and a few high ranking lords (including the Head of the House of Lords) were there to witness the launch of the first colony ship since the great Arks that brought the Nova Terran people to their current homeworld Terra Icaria. An unfinished frigate hung in the corner, but that was unimportant until the next tenth. The main focus of the day was the large boxy colony ship that was headed towards one of the systems 3 wormholes. The Nova Terra are a warrior people. They had once ruled over much of Earth, but had been banished after a surprise nuclear strike on their population center by their former allies the Human Freedom Coalition. The ships wandered for generations until they hit an unknown wormhole and crashed into Terra Icaria. It had taken them 200 years to rise again to rule the stars. If only they had found the technology to build such starships before they had been forced to leave Sol! So many of their people had died, including the colonists on Mars. If only things had been different. But wallowing in the past would bring them nowhere. It was time to rule the present!
The Daggertooth 2400.2
The Imperial Navy was officially formed by the launch of the NTIF Daggertooth. The formidable FR-1 Daggertooth class featured 10 ion engines, twin rail-turrets loaded with uranium bolts, and enough supplies to last several years. Command was given to Captain Jonas Tyron, the most decorated officer on Terra Icaria. It immediately set out to the system’s only Wormhole, retracing the steps towards Earth. Meanwhile, the colonists where frustrated, coming so close to their new home, only to reach it immediately next tenth.
Terra Hardian 2400.3
Lord Rhemoraz let out a toothy grin. It was finnaly happening! He had a whole planet at his disposal, and he could use it to bring glory to the empire! Terra Hardian was a beautiful planet, with is sapphire skies and the lush green valleys under the frosted White Plains. The Colony was rich in minerals and organics, and several mines and farms were being set up in the first city.
Meanwhile, another FR-1 Daggertooth finished construction. It was to be named the NTIF Dominant.
Yaga Nora System 2400.4
Caption Tyron stared at the miracle before him. No less than 3 stars orbited each other, and in the middle a huge, lush oxygen planet full of minerals. How was this possible? Sensory scans showed nothing but a highly radioactive planet with no atmosphere, so he immediately set out for another wormhole.
Terra Baldin 2400.6
A Colony ship the planet in between 3 stars. The city was named Trinity. Another FR-1 Daggertooth was produced (the NTIF Taxomy) and set off to defend Terra Baldin.
Encounters 2400.7
The NTIF Daggertooth jerked in the wasteland of energy that is a wormhole. Jonas Tyron felt the Nausea and the odd tingling feeling. Suddenly the stars were back. There were 2 things of interest in this system: the radioactive storms and a mysterious black object that was drifting at incredible speeds toward the wormhole. Unfortunately for the object, you don’t mess with the Imperial Fleet. The Daggertooth flew strait towards this new object, peppering it with uranium bolts. Strange tubes on the ship returned fire, and rocket propelled projectiles flew towards the Daggertooth. Point defence cannons shot most of them down, but a single missile slammed against the armoured hull. A massive explosion suddenly light up the infinite darkness. Multiple fires burst into existence on the alien’s hull. The ship tore itself apart, and plasma and gas spewed into space. Captian Jonas didn’t even realise he was holding his breath. “Get a shuttle out there try to recover as many bodies as possible, also try to get one of those missiles for study.” He then turned to his pilot. “As soon as those shuttles come back set a course to Terra Hardian for repairs.”
Soon after, the Hassak Imperium showed itself to the diplomatic core. They were obviously extremely scared, and immediately accepted a Non-agression and trade treaty.
The Barbaross 2401.0
The 7 Imperial frigates (including the 2 new ones from Terra Baldwin the Wildcat and the Falcon and a pair of FRM-1 Bombardiers from Terra Hardia the Ambition and the Valor) soared through space. 2 tenths ago, the Hassak Imperium had warned them about a extremely aggressive Barbaross Empire that lay at the end of this wormhole. Joining them was the NTIG Scorpion, the first transport and the only ship of the Imperial Guard. (Specifically the Icarian Legion) The Praetor had decided to cripple the Barbarossi before the over-grown lizards knew they were there. The fleet jumped into the Barbaroson system. They were in for a surprise. A Barbaross colony and its 3 frigates was in range for the tenth. Admiral Tyron decided to take advantage of this opportunity. “All ships move in except the Scorpion. We’re going to eliminate this colony!” The 1st enemy vessel was shot down by the amassed firepower before it got a chance to fight back. The second one fired a few cannons, crippling the Taxomy before self destructing. The 3rd, realizing it was doomed, rammed the wounded Taxomy, destroying 50 Terran lives and a tenths worth of work. The helpless colony was then bombarded into a heap of radioactive rubble. The war with the Barrbarossi had begun.
The Battle of Reylitite 2401.1
Admiral Tyron looked proudly at the crew of his flagship the Daggertooth. The entire fleet was prepared to assault the defenceless colony Reylitite. This would be the first fight of the Imperial Guard. Onboard the NTIG Scorpion, Sergeant Adam Chapman looked out of his gunship nervously. In 5 seconds, they were about to fall strait into a planet. Suddenly the ground gave way. They were falling, but no direction was down. Their ATG Warthog then jetted closer to the planet. All of a sudden, they felt a thump. The platoon jumped out of the hovering gunship and started to run towards their objective a mountain bunker probably being used as a weapons depot. The first thing Sgt Chapman noticed was the heavy weapon emplacements that the Barbarossi had set up around the caves entrance. He transmitted a message through his LCD asking for the gunship’s aid, and ordered his troops to hold position. The gunship burst out of the thick jungle, and a dozen missiles streaked out to the shocked gunners. Sgt Chapman shifted his grip on his auto rifle. “FIRE!” Hundreds of rocket propelled projectiles flew towards the reptilian aliens and burst into bits of shrapnel once they hit them. In many explosion of blood, the Barbarossi troops fell. Adjusting their electro bayonets, Sgt Chapman and his Guardsmen charged. The terrans raced through the caves, fireing their ARP rifles or scorching the Barbarossi with their electro bayonets. Sgt Chapman turned sharply with his comrade’s scream echoing in his ears. A Barbaross, abandoning his primitive projectile canon, had gutted her with it’s claws. Bellowing with rage, it turned to the Sgt. Chapman fired one of the 2 rockets attached to his ARP. In a shower of gore, the Barbaross’s chest ceased to exist. Chapman turned just in time to impale one of the lizards that had been sneaking up on him from behind. As the blue sparks ran up the Barbaross’s body, Chapman came to a conclusion: War is hell.
The Reylitite fell quickly to the Imperial Guard’s advance. The planet and its weapon platforms were seized, and imperial propaganda was distributed. The biggest catch was the intact space yard and space ports. Only one more Barbarross planet to go. The Imperial Research Guild announced a critical breakthrough: the destroyer hulls were in the prototype stage. Things were looking good.
