Treaty glytch

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if there is another thread covering this topic, but I've ran into a problem where I've created treaties with the computer races and everything is going fine up to the point where I create an alliance. As soon as it goes into effect all my treaties are eliminated and I also lose the ability to make individual treaties with non alliance members. I don't have the treaty restriction ban element selected in the alliance rules so theoretically I should still be able to from other treaties, have any of you had this problem or know of a solution?

Creating an Alliance removes all your previous treaties. You can no longer act independently.

I'd avoid Alliances at this time in SE5, since there are a few other bugs that cause them to be unpredictable.

This bug should be on the ultra-critical list since the AI can "invite" you into an alliance against your will breaking all your treaties. This happened to me in a PBW. I got tossed into an alliance with an enemy. Both our economies crashed and we had to exchange techs. Anyone playing ANY game with ANY neutrals are doing so at their own risk!

The AI does not offer Alliances - it's not scripted to. Although they sometimes propose a treaty that contains the word "Alliance".

Hmm. It happened to me in ASTOCKGAME on PBW.CC. The sequence of events as I understood it is this:

1. A player creates an alliance (The Noble Alliance of Virtue) with a one system neutral AI player.
2. Said player leaves the alliance leaving the neutral as the only member.
3. The neutral, perhaps feeling lonely, invites three random neighbors to join (two allies, one enemy) whether they like it or not.
4. Everyone gets treaties broken; techs, sensors, maps, etc shared. Chaos ensues.
5. The three players leave alliance, eliminate neutral. Game nearly ruined.

If you are saying that item 3 above could not have happened then you got me curious. Theories?

Does anyone know if they will be addressing this issue in the next patch, because this will greatly effect my game strategy

Yes, a number of Alliance bugs are listed as high priority for the next patch.
