I downloaded some custom empires: Babylon 5, galactic empire etc and while I know where to put the design list so it appears on gamesetup I have no idea where the general/background text of that race should go (the text that lists down biololigy, society and history) I rathar copy the contained data and paste it where it should be rather then write it out all over again.

save the empire text file under SavedEmpires
eg.SE5\SavedEmpires
Then when you have made your race and choose import text your text file should be available. The text needs to be in a certain format, each section is a seperate paragraph. Here for example is my text for the Centauri
Despite their similarity to Humans, Centauri are actually different in quite a lot of ways. Their skin is different, their circulatory and digestive systems are very different, and the less said about their reproductive system the better.
Despite being called a Republic the Centauri are led by an Emperor. Various noble families scheme and plot to grow in power, while seeking the Emperor's favour. Their society has three classes, Noble, common and slave. Despite the name slaves are no worse than servants. All Centauri are "noble" but someone has to do all the work. Alien slaves however deserve no pity.
Throughout their History the Centauri have systematically conquered the galaxy until they were the largest Empire in known history. The Republic has occasionally shrunk, only to launch a resurgance and grow to even greater heights. At the moment they are in one of their reduced phases but many nobles look to the future and a return to greatness.
