Hi forum,
I got the game a time ago, but it didn't seem to work with my old machine. Or so I thought, apparently the game still as issues with my new computer.
When I scroll the galaxy view it skips, and when ships move they also skip around. The scrolling galaxy looks like a scratch table. It is horrible and it takes up more time, and it makes it difficult to scroll and to wait for the ship animations to finish.
Is there any way to fix this? I'm running the latest updated version, and I'm using a win Xp machine.

Could be a number of things. If you have a new PC then it is probably a multicore machine. SE5 is a single core game. Some people notice an improvement when they set the affinity for the program from multicore to single.
To do this do a Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Task Manager. Select the Processes tab. Find the .exe file for the game and right click on it. Select Set Affinity. Uncheck all CPUs except for CPU 0 and click on OK. See if that helps.
