Problem in installing UK version of Space Empires V |

Space Empires V General
I am British and have bought the (presumably) UK version of Space Empires V but I can't get it to work after installation.
I have tried at least three different UK patche versions but none of them work, with the the error message each time being that I require an older version (of the game or the patch?).
Please advise.

Try a complete uninstall and just install the basic game from CD. If that works then patch. Make sure both your CD and patches are UK version if applicable. (and good luck!)
