Pak'ma'ra shipset |

Pak'ma'ra, in general, are an extremely intelligent and inquisitive race. To them, knowledge truly is power — pak'ma'ra statesmen are distinguished elders, and many famous pak'ma'ra are noted explorers and scientists. Pak'ma'ra believe themselves a chosen and superior people, and their ability to consume any other of the sentient species is a sign of this.

Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
The ship in the lower right corner looks oddly familiar to me, like I saw it in a movie someplace.
The second ship on the bottom row seems familiar also, not sure from where.
The Vulture/Mad Dog Heavy Clan Omnimech, on the otherhand, is a familiar design.
While I don't use shipsets, it is interesting to take a look at some of them.
I really like the ship in the upper right, plus the fact I like ships with the 'twin nose' (and dual hull) style.
The 'hammerhead' looking ship below it looks interesting also, looks like a design I would like to fit a lot of guns (or warheads) in the front.
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
The race itself reminds me of the Ood on Doctor Who a few years ago.
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
The hammerhead might be from Space:Above and beyond.
The second ship on the bottom looks like a Cardassian attack ship.

The odd ship at the end is a freighter that made an obscure apeparance in the first epiosde of the new BSG

Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Oh come on now, BSG?? They'd get sued their asses off it that were true lol! So you guys really never saw Firefly? It's even in the name of the ship image lol
Go watch the Firefly series and then the Serenity movie already! Here's a bonus picture.

Nice picture.

Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
It is the old style of Vulture/Mad Dog.
There is also a new version, which I first saw in Mechwarrior 4, iirc.
Some art of the old style Vulture.

Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Very cool.
Loyalty above all else except honor.
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
the troop design does appear to be "inspired" by mechwarrior.
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Just like how quite a few mechs (and maybe other things) in the earlier Mechwarrior/Battletech games were "inspired" by Robotech/Macross.
Not that I mind, cool is cool, be it on a hex board and knocking over a battlemech miniature with a stray die roll, stomping across virtual battlefields pumping 40 missiles up a battlemech's tailpipe at long range, or simply clicking and sending them scurrying around in something like a packed mouse maze of death with AP Beams and Ground Cannons shooting off everywhere as Drushocka troops get composted...
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
I liked the earliest Macross stories.
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Watch Shadow Chronicles. It is AWESOME!
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Well I wouldn't say it was amazing. It was good enough I suppose, after 20 years, but it's the sort of movie where I watched it and afterwards couldn't see myself really bothering to watch it again. I could have saved money borrowing it from Blockbuster, except of course I suppose Blockbuster wouldn't necessarily have any. Still the Hadonites were good.
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
I still want them to continue the story. I liked that one very much. But we're drifting off topic.
On topic, robotech inspired shipsets would rule!
Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Yeah, Robotech or Macross/Southern Cross/Mospeda inspired ship sets might be interesting... but SE V would lack everything needed to get the 'feel' right for the several km long ships, heavy particle beam cannons, and huge space battles of epic proportions. One problem is one or two ships recieve little screen time in Robotech, although the new movie Shadow Chronicles might show one of them in better detail. (I haven't seen Shadow Chronicles yet myself)
Barring that, it would be interesting to see anyways, even if SE V does lack the big AoE weapons and ability to handle absurdly massive fleets.

Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Haha, I didn't recognise the BattleCruiser!

Re: Pak'ma'ra shipset
Nifty... You forgot to show us the flag.
Looks cool though.
