Construction Queue Automatic Moveto resets itself

Soumis par Timmy1111 le Sam, 2008-08-23 16:19 Space Empires V General

Hi, I posted this problem in the Known Bugs thread too, but I'm not sure if it's a bug because nobody else seems to have mentioned it.

The problem is that only the first ship a shipyard constructs actually moves to the waypoint set in its construction queue options. After that, the queue option resets its destination to the default 'none.' Any explanations or hints on fixing this?
Thanks.

I've never heard of anyone experiencing this issue. Did you attempt to load an item list in the affected queue? Did you have other queues that reset?

I've seen this happen a few times but only when I had more than one planet working and then it only reset once they were done. I assumed it was supposed to do this...

In response to Captain Kwok:
I didn't load a list; I just used Shift-Q, selected all my shipyards, set them to build multiple copies of a certain ship, then double-clicked on each planet name to enter its queue settings and set its moveto orders. Every one of my queues reset, as far as I can tell.

In response to Eruntalan:
I'll have to recreate it and watch closely to see if it's after the first item or after all of them.

Thanks for your responses; I'll post again once I retest it so I can be precise.

Incidentally Timmy11, while you're in the Add to All construction list, you are able to set Queue Options (like Repeat or Emergency Build, or Move to Waypoint) and they will stick against all selected planets. You can also click Add to All immediately followed by Close to clear all those options again. It's a time saver, and also I've used this lots with a 1.74/1.14b game and didn't have the problems you describe. You might like to give it a try instead of visiting all planets.

Also, just clutching at straws, did you know that hitting the Clear Queue button against a queue will clear the Automatic Move To option but fails to update the yellow Move To text on the construction screen? That one's caught me before...

Aha! Thanks MisterBenn. I think that first suggestion may have solved the problem (knock on wood.) Now why did I never notice that before?

Guess I'll postpone my cranky "why can nobody make a decent 4X game anymore" post. Smiling
