System Specs |
From reading on the other forum, and here. I have noticed a wide variety of systems people are playing on. Some of the performance issues I have noticed, others I have not. If you wouldnt mind, I think it could be helpful to put your system specs up here, to maybe get a better feel for if maybe people having mouse issues, all use the same video card? or maybe slower performaing games, could be a result of something that is common between several others?
this is my game box.
Intel 3.4Ghz PIV (Soon to be a Dual Core, but I have to buy a new MB)
Asus P5ND2-SLI Deluxe
3GB RAM
Dual BFG Nvidia 7950 GX2 video cards (2GB Video RAM) Quad SLI (SUCKS! going back to SLI on 2 7900's, it's faster!) Driver version 91.47
OS and Game running on a striped set of 160GB SATA-2 Western Digital drives (RAID 0 300GB)
Sound Blaster X-Fi card
Dual DVD-CD Drives
Logitech G5 Wired Gaming Mouse / Basic Dell USB wired Keyboard
Windows XP Professional with SP2
Dell 24" Widescreen flat panel (1920X1600X32)
all settings maxed, and FPS showing, I tend to run arounf 75 FPS, with it dipping to 50FPS at times.. sorta startled me to see that, since i can run some of the most demanding games on themarket at higher frame rates and this game doesnt tax video performance really. Code be design flaws in the engine making systems work harder than need be.
share what you run and any issues, and maybe we can see a pattern?

Wow
You have 4 video cards in there... scary.
edit:
And since the game doesn't support dual-core processors, I bet the same is true for GPUs.

No SLI, No Multithreading, No performance... sadly
This game doesn't support SLI or Multithreading, so you end up using one vid card and one processor. However, this game still sucks up far more resources than it needs to. I get 50 or more FPS on Half-Life 2, and I still get more than 30 FPS on GMod when I have far too many physics things going on.
When I play SE:V, I get 30 FPS normally. Since the game is sitting idle, it should have not be consuming a significant amount of processing power. The game is also not drawing many polygons (probably less than any given scene in HL2), so that isn't a problem either... What is the problem, then? The 2D graphics. The biggest performance hit in the whole game is what we all consider the simplest - flat pictures.
I watch my framerate, and it tends to drop 1 FPS per 128x128 picture it is drawing. In the main screen, that's at least a 5 FPS drop there. With a menu up, that's more than 10 FPS.
Thoughts, comments, frying pans?

Watch for my mod - codename: Dimensions - coming by Summer, 2007!

Multithreading Support
There is some multithreading support being added, but MM needs more systems to test it out on. Players with multithreading support should contact Aaron at se5 at malfador dot com.

I'm using a ZD8000 laptop
I'm using a ZD8000 laptop from HP...
3.2 HT
1 Gig ram
80 gig 7,200 rpm drive
ATI 256 ram gc
17" at 1400 x 900
I'm using the touch pad on the computer.
(its a great system to play SEV on the road)
I'm on: Pentium M 1.5GHz
I'm on:
Pentium M 1.5GHz laptop
MR9700 64MB
1GB RAM
I run it in windowed mode (1024) and get around 65fps in system view depending on visual density
But if I open a menu, it drops to 35fps and the mouse starts to lag which sometimes makes me want to not play for a while and do something else
Changing
Currently I'm playing on a
AMD athlon 2400+
1 gb DDR RAM
Ati x1600 pro 256MB
MAXTOR 120 GB
I does have problems with systems that are filled with Asteroids.. But combat never shows a frame drop even with heavy populated battles.
And the one I'm currently asembling will be a
AMD Ahtlon 64 X2 5200+
2 gb DDR2 800mhz RAM
Nvidea 8800 GTX
2x WD 320GB SataII Raid 0 (640 GB total)
Motherboard, if interested: Asus M2N32 Deluxe
I hope i don't get complications with my dual core...
Re: System Specs
I got the problem with slow down on the main menu, the first time pops up, frame rate drops to nearly non-existant, going into new game screen etc fixes the frame rate and runs smooth...
AMD64 X2 3800+
2Gb DDR RAM
nVidia 6600 GT w/ 162.18 drivers
Abit AN8
SAtaI drives

No, not really it is just
No, not really it is just this game doesn't supprt SLi.. so you are only using one Video card
