colonization/treaty question |
My ally and I have a non-aggression treaty that does not allow colonization within one another's systems. What determines ownership of a system, if we both have colonies there. I don't seem to be able to colonize in systems that we both colonized under an earlier treaty that allowed inter-colonization.
Can I just "lay claim" to a system somehow, or do I have to have colonies there?
Thanks!
Re: colonization/treaty question
You are allowed to capture and occupy additional planets. That would allow you to capture planets from empires your at war/have no treaty in those systems.
Make sure those planets have defenses, the AI likes to break treaties and attack.

Re: colonization/treaty question
No. Generally planetary happiness only decreases when you're losing combats or have a non-native race without the presence of happiness boosters like troops or happiness facilities.

Re: colonization/treaty question
Whoever has a colony owns the system. If both players have a colony in a system before the treaty is signed, then both "own" the system so neither can add any more colonies.
