(1.08) Loading a saved empire in setup screws up tech points |
When I load up an empire at setup and try to edit the empire, I find that the empire was given 476,000 tech points to spend, even though I set starting tech points to 0. Also all tech levels get set to zero, even the ones that always start at 1.

Not sure why, but I'm lobbying for it to be fixed in patch 2.

A Little More on the Tech Point Propblem
A little more on the tech point proplem that I noticed.
After assigning those 476,000 points and saving the empire (not just selecting save to exit the tech screen, but saving the empire file), when the empire is reloaded all the selected techs are lost. In addition to not retaining the selected tech selections, those 476,000 points can be entirely spent on technologies that are not default techs (for example I tried placing them in astrophisics and stellar manipulation), and when the game is started you recieve your selected techs and all of the default techs that had ben left at zero.




Known bug...
Anytime the data files are changed this happens. It's a known/reported problem.
