This was done more as a learning exercise for myself than anything else, but in any case I've added a few new events to the random events script. You can download the complete mod at http://www.hotkey.net.au/~bjhann/events_mod.rar

Okay, I guess you can't edit the original post in a thread. Start again...

v1.0 - Initial Release (26 July 2008)

1. Changed - population-killing events will not kill all population unless it is already small (<10M).
2. Changed - events that affect planets are now divided into those that can affect any planet and those that can only affect a colonised planet.
3. Changed - the random amount of some events is based on event severity (eg population-killer events will kill more population if the event severity is higher)
4. Changed - events are divided into those that are 'Bad' and those that aren't.  Event-avoiding abilities (eg Lucky, Fate Shrine) will only attempt to avoid Bad events.
5. Fixed - corrected errors in the Cosmic Storm and Population Happiness Changed events.
6. Added - New Events:
	i.   Increase in value of Minerals, Organics or Radioactives
	ii.  Increase in happiness, planet or galaxy-wide
	iii. Research breakthrough
	iv.  Increase in population
	v.   Religious fervour may grip the population of any race that has researched religious studies
	vi.  Neutral events

I'm also after suggestions for more events.

Would you be willing to post the uncomplied scripts for other modders?

Also, another good random event would be the AI take over, all master computers on every empires' ship convert to a new
empire (or existing if they are mechanoid).

Sorry, should have mentioned that the raw script is included in the .rar (the only script file I changed was Script_Main_ExternalEvents.txt).

That sounds like an interesting event, I'll see what I can come up with. Dunno how good an empire they'd make with no planets and no resources, but still... Not sure that I could specify they join an existing Mechanoid empire since as far as I can tell there's no function to check what Racial Traits an empire has.

Actually.... An empire needs at least one planet. Maybe just give them a planet to call their homeworld?
