Bug Report: Surrender Reply Lag |
I found a bug in the surrender system. I was at war with the AI (Cue Cappa Commonwealth) and had occupied their home system (they only had 2 other colony worlds at this point). I had eliminated their fleet, destroyed their homeworld's defenses, and was demanding their surrender.
They surrendered "Further resistance is folly" or some such, and the other empires were notified.
The very next turn I received a reply to my demand, rejecting it and saying they'd rather die than surrender to me!!!
Apparently the message queue wasn't cleared out when they surrendered and there was a lag.
Not sure if it's a bug in the BM or in the game engine.
SE 1.74, BM 1.14b (latest versions of both).

This happens all the time, as far as I can tell. I routinely demand the surrender of empires when they get down to a planet or two, and there is always a message that comes through like that, after they have surrendered.

I have yet to find any of them to surrender no matter how many planets they have left. I think I just like to taunt them! There is nothing better than getting that reply back that they don't want to surrender when they are so close to victory, 1 turn after I annihilated their last planet and lost contact with them. Thats a funny bug, I guess maybe its a message from that dweeb that talks to dead people.

Did you send surrender requests in consecutive turns?
