Insanely happy colonists |

Why are the colonists so happy all the time? I probably shouldn't complain, but it seems a little unrealistic.
For example, in one of my single-player games I just conquered an enemy homeworld. After two or three turns of orbital bombardment (which killed millions) I landed a huge army and slaughtered the roughly 40 militia units. The planet is now being occupied by a foreign army which they've been at war with for three years.
Surprisingly, the colonists are still Jubilant and are already 99% loyal to me. What gives? Shouldn't they be a bit upset at recent developments?
FYI, this is a Balance Mod 1.14 game.

Stop building robotoid beer factories
Re: Insanely happy colonists
probably insanely hoppy(beer) colonist.
Re: Insanely happy colonists
That's weird. I have a game where I've captured planet after planet and the livestock I capture is always unhappy, when they don't eventually start rioting. Of course my bugs don't really care what the livestock feels, as long as it doesn't affect their taste. When they start rioting I just eat them all and ship in more from their ex homeworld.

Re: Insanely happy colonists
Close all the strip joints at 10pm local time. Then ban 24 hour "bookstores". If nothing else, your female colonists will riot about the males being HOME ALL THE TIME.

Re: Insanely happy colonists
Actually, I think the happiness might have something to do with how lopsided the groud battle for the planet was.
Re: Insanely happy colonists
They are happy that the invading army (you) didn't start mass execution programs. They are loyal to you because they know disobedience to your rule will not be good for them or any planets named Alderaan.
Re: Insanely happy colonists
THAT sounds about right actually.
Oh and if they live in my empire they'll be able to relocate themselves to worlds scattered around the entire galaxy. Granted they'll still work for me(mostly), but they'll get to have a nice vacation home while they do so.

Re: Insanely happy colonists
I boarded and commandeered a colony ship with a fairly large enemy population on it (of Xenophobes, no less) and dumped them on one of my planets. I expected to have to build an Urban Pacification Center and possibly keep troops on the world to keep these bastards in check, but when I looked that same turn they were 100% loyal and Jubilant.

Re: Insanely happy colonists
I've had Drushocka and Eee living "jubilantly" together on the same planet!
Re: Insanely happy colonists
They are happy because you did not press ctrl-k.

Re: Insanely happy colonists
maybe they're happy you got rid of their inept and pathetic leaders? I have seen this happen often myself.
