Captain Kwok |
Is this just a coincidence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Kwok ?
Could Aaron have been here all along?

Re: Captain Kwok
lol, if Aaron were Captain Kwok, the stock game would be infinitely better right now.

Re: Captain Kwok
Well, I suppose he means something different:
The nickname “Captain Kwok” could stem from Aaron Kwok, as mentioned above. It might be the name that Aaron Hall, creator of this game, chose to roam this forum incognito. It could be a kind of pun on his first name.
Might even be true – I’d think that “Captain Kwok” displays enough knowledge of this game to be the creator himself. But then it might be just coincidence.
I really doubt that anybody rich as a film star would spend time with SEV, let alone being this active in the forum.
Re: Captain Kwok
You mean like someone rich as a baseball player spent time with EQ2 and eventually started his own MMO studio?
Kurt Schilling
Re: Captain Kwok
Capt Kwok is not Aaron Hall. They look different for a start, and Aaron Hall is older.
Re: Captain Kwok
I agree with Benc. This sounds implausible. Besides Kwok is a common oriental name.
Did a google image search and here's what I got on first page alone:
Aaron Kwok (mentioned above)
Sonija Kwok
Wai Yin Kwok
Miranda Kwok
Cary Kwok
Robert S. Kwok
Daniel Kwok
Al Kwok
Ricky Yu-Kwong Kwok
Chan Kwok Keung
so yeah, minor coincidence if anything. Oh and oriental women are hot.
Re: Captain Kwok
Yeah, Captain Kwok has that whole green skin and eye stalk thing going that Aaron is lacking...

Re: Captain Kwok
The "Kwok" from Captain Kwok was based on someone I knew in a computer class about 10 years ago. The character Captain Kwok first emerged as the commanding officer of a Geezoid spaceship battling against the evil Sleezoids in some cheesy computer game I made as a project.
Re: Captain Kwok
I can't believe anybody would actually think someone would pretend to be somebody else on the Internet.
Re: Captain Kwok
...no, can't believe it...ever...really, honest. Doesn't end up in the news ever...Though in this case I'm going to take Kwok's word for it
Re: Captain Kwok
Really? Come on...
Everyone knows that Fyron is Aaron Hall's pseudonym....
Javaslinger

Re: Captain Kwok
"I AM SPARTACUS.... ummm ..... I AM CAPT KWOK"
Re: Captain Kwok
Maybe Aaron, Kwok and Fyron are all the same person? CREEPY!

Re: Captain Kwok
ok, guys
I am Aaron Hall!!!
tada

Re: Captain Kwok
and Fyron ... and Kwok..... and many others names)))))

Re: Captain Kwok
Not to mention Suicide Junkie... and Voldemort... and Cthulhu... and God... and The One Who Shall Remain Nameless...
Hmm, anyone ever played the "Dominions" games? In Dominions you take the role of a "pretender god" trying to wipe all other deities off the face of the earth... based on the abilities you choose at the beginning of the game, your deity will get randomly generated titles, such as "The All-Devouring" (if you choose evil magic) or "Protector of the Forests" (if you choose nature magic)... and more powerful gods would get more titles... I wonder what types of pretender gods some of us might be were we placed into Dominions?

Seriously that's what we need, a Space Empires themed roguelike!

Re: Captain Kwok
Yeah, I tried it. But I had to stop very fast as the UI was VERY confusing (and the whole game rather ugly).
Re: Captain Kwok
rubbish dominiond was and is a very cool in depth game that take a long time to master, great fun with huge hordes of the undead at your command ruled over by THE LITCH KING!! (ominous music)
if u didnt like the interface it did get better with 2 and 3.

Re: Captain Kwok
i played both 2 and 3 Dominions... do not ever see the title "The one, who is "Captain Kwok"
Re: Captain Kwok
I always thought Capt Kwok was a play on the name Capt Kirk. I believe there was some simularity in uniforms as well.

Re: Captain Kwok
" is a popular Hong Kong singer and film actor"
are you kidding?
