Population Growth and Movement

Soumis par bpleshek le Mar, 2008-07-01 15:18 Space Empires V FAQs

Hi All,

I had a question. Do most of you use freighters to move population from the homeworld to the new colonies in order for them to grow faster or do you just rely on the behind the scenes population movement to take place? Is it better to do on certain colony types over others ? Is your planet's growth affected by how full it is as other games do(once it's 95% full growth slows, etc) making me really want to make sure my HW doesn't have a near max population? Comments?

Thanks,

Brian

I typically don't bother with freighters. Planets rarely get to 100% due to migration.

No, growth is a flat percentage; it just stops when you hit the maximum.

Because population gives production and construction bonuses, you sometimes want to keep planets as close to full as you can.

I use population transports to un-dome colonies.

I use them to move populations also. If you look your HW might have a 12% (per year) growth and a 6% migration. Well if your HW is full, you can't have max population growth. 12% growth - 6% migration away = net gain of 6% but if the planet is full, it is lost.
