[SE5 v1.74] Stellar Manipulation: Sphere World Placement Generator...

I’m preparing to make the Sphere World Placement Generator, but I’m still short 30 levels. The manual is saying “no other stellar constructions can be present in the solar system.”

Does this mean I can’t form any warp point and planets till I finish this first? Because teching to level 80 is pretty long time and I still have a size huge asteroid spot that could be a useful research planet, but I’m afraid that if I do construct that asteroid to a planet, does that prevent me from making the Sphere World in that solar system?

It means that the system cannot already contain a sphere world or ring world.

However when you build the sphereworld it is likely that the plaanet will be destroyed in the process

Oh yeah and another thing, does the size of the star have any effect on the Sphere World Placement Generator?

And what sizes stars are there in this game? I found medium and large so far...

I've never successfully built one of these, because of all the hidden requirements. I've tried a few times when a game has lasted long enough that I could delay winning for another year or two to try building one, but have always ended up cussing.

The more recent patches have made more of them clear but here are the requirements I know about:

* Can't be in a multiple-star system

* Can't have any ships or units within 6 hexes of "the star" (not sure if that's the center hex of the system or the star itself) other than the ship doing the construction and the stations with cables and plating.

* Must have the creating device on a ship with movement, 'cause it takes a movement point to use

* The ship AND all the stations with plating and cables, must be in the same hex and that hex must be adjacent to the star when the star is 7 hexes. I don't know if it's really adjacent, or just no more than 2 hexes from the center of the system

not planets colonys in the system, planets within 6 sectors get WIPED OUT Sad only good thing is to have the ships required in the star and NOTHINGelse there not even one more star a good one is find ANY system wipe it clean using star explosion device or black hole destroter etc then create a star and build on that

Actually if you have colonies you can "abandon" them. this is also a good use for those annoying nebula systems.
