How does weapons work when they are damaged?
They continue firing?
If yes, what is their behavior depending on damage?

I think damage to weapons has no effect till they are destroyed. They will work to full effect no matter how damaged. Only when destroyed do they stop.

try to get battle in the simulator
1 Depleted Uranium ship VS 1 Deplrted uranium ship... set speed to 0.5 or even 0.25 and just have an eyes on them

There are a few rows in settings.txt dedicated to when weapons and components should stop working. I don't know whether they are used but according to them weapons stop working when taking more than 75% damage.

From settings.txt:
Damage Factor Object Still Operational - Weapon := 0.50
Damage Factor Object Still Operational - Component := 0.50
Damage Factor Object Still Operational - Facility := 0.50
So if any thing has damage less then 50%, they work normally. Above 50%, they don't work at all.
I think at exactly 50% they don't work either, but am not sure.
It looks as if Space empires V has binary tech...

I think it means that a hit delays the target's next shot for anywhere from 2 to 6 seconds... which makes weapons disruptors REALLY handy for orbital bombardment, since they can (surprisingly) target planets!
