[SEV 1.74] the weapon platform... |
I know ships and base needs supplies and ordnance for their weapon and engine, but I got one question, what about the weapon platform? I noticed when you create a weapon platform, you can add supplies and ordnance spot, but when I was defending my planet, I noticed the planet says Endless for supplies and ordnance. So is it really necessary for me to add a supply and ordnance part onto the weapon platform? Or do I need to add it because they do use their own supplies/ordnance?

Re: [SEV 1.74] the weapon platform...
Ah yes, but as a follow-up question I always wondered if you used Sats/Weapon Platforms that have Ord/Supply generating components if the 'excess' after a unit fills up is added to the planets stock or a ships 'stock' if its in the same hex/sector.
IIRC it worked in se4 this way......

NOpe, it must be transferred, probably by hand. I don't think you can give satellites continuous orders.

Re: [SEV 1.74] the weapon platform...
Are you sure about that? I thought the planetary supply and ordnance generation merely replenishes whichever storage components require it.

They were asking about the supply gen of the units not the planets.

Re: [SEV 1.74] the weapon platform...
In space combat, weapon platforms do not consume supplies or ordnance (they do in ground combat but there are no platform based weapons in stock that can fire in ground combat!)
So the fact that you can put supply and ordnance storage on them was probably an oversight, along the lines of "why can I put engines on bases when they all have a max engine limit of zero and are hard coded to be immobile?"
