Multiple Weapons Question |
I'm in a campaign (Unnamed Mod)w/ latest patch, and at war with a fighter using race. Since my fleets are still being built for this war, i have had to rely on my own fighters for the time being. So naturally i designed a pure superiority fighter to keep what we have ours, til the fleet arrives. I put in a variety of wpns just to deal with enemy fighters......
2x Proton Beams
2x Uranium Cannons
3x Meson Blasters
....tested them on the space battle sim and they work great, 1 of mine can easily defeat 4 of theirs. Then i noticed that during combat my fighter was fireing 2 green beams and 2 small projectiles ( i'm assuming the projectiles were the Uranium Cannons and the Green Beams were the Proton Beams), and did not see any other wpns fire thru out the battle. So i'm not sure if the Meson Blasters were being used or not. I selected targeting with wpns and then selected all the wpns on the list vs 1 of the fighters on the next test run....and the same results with the same graphic effects...2 beams 2 projectiles.
So my question is...Did all my wpns fire during combat, but only shows 2 graphically, or did only 4 of the 7 wpns fire thru out the battle? When the Meson blaster fires does it look the same as the Proton beams? If only 4 of 7 wpns fired, can and how do i fix that? I've seen the strategy setting when i build new ships/fighters, but set for optimum for best results...should i just set for point blank and will that help?
I'm going to do some more testing to see what the different graphics are for the other wpns and maybe that will tell me if any look the same or if each are different....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Multiple Weapons Question
IIRC Meson Blasters have shorter range than DUC and Anti-Proton Beams. Were your fighters close enough to the enemy?

Re: Multiple Weapons Question
The meson blasters actually look like projectiles. They are Energy Pulse weapons.
The easiest way to see this is create 1 fighter with each weapon. Then head to the space simulator. If you use the target range during the battle, you can see the range of the weapons.
Or, you can select the Fire ON selection from the menu, and select the target, when the window pops up select ONLY the weapons you want to see (fire).
Energy Stream Weapons look like Lasers ... Stream= a continuous laser of energy.
Energy Pulse Weapons look like bullets.
