What's with all the ancient threads being re-opened lately, forum problem?

Now we just have to let this thread die for a year or two and then have someone answer "I dunno" and re-open this thread

We are being tricked into the graveyard of dead threads by the evil "Today" section. No idea why, short of a bored sysadmin

There's my proof: I can see a topic called "The Fall of Warp Point 34-1267" which hasn't had any (visible) posts in it fro over a year now, but it is the bottom entry of "Today's". I think that module is bugged as it should only show threads with recent posts instead of some "Last viewed" behavior.

yeah, I looked at a thread under "Today's" about mines. Posted to it, then noticed it was all back in 06.

"Today's" is one of the many useless to me features that I turned off in My Account.
