normal start vs quick start in balance mod |
Hello,
I would like to use terran race (the race i would play) as it is configured in balance mod by using normal start instead of quick start. I have tried to save empire after quick start, and reloading it in the normal start, but it don't let me to do it (it said it has spent more research point that allowed by the current game option).
Is it possible ?
Another question : Are ministers in a normal start are using the AI's Balance mod ?

Captain Kwok really quick question, do you know if Aaron will fix this in the future so that you can save and reload empires? The game could automatically adjust the techs depending on what your settings are. Always default to just starting technology. This would allow empires to be reused.

By the same token, players will want their technology choices saved as well. It's probably best to create a couple of empire files, one with 0 technology points spent and another with 50000 etc. It takes a one-time effort of 2-3 minutes to do both.

I'd suspect it's using the Terran scripts, but I've never tested that scenario.

Increase the number of tech points in the game setup, then edit your Terran empire file to have only the starting techs. Then save it. You'll then be able to load it with a low tech point game etc.
A player can pick one of 3 default Balance Mod minister styles (defensive, moderate, aggressive) in their empire setup.
