Question about shipsets/new races |
I have downloaded some ship sets and extracted them into my empires folder, I can see all the individual components of the empires in the create an empire section like the ship style, pictures of the rulers and so forth but I can't seem to load the complete empires into the game to actually compete against them.
I can see that the empires have histories, planet types ect so I believe they should work the same as the default empires but when I try to play a quick game only the original empires can be selected -I even tried removing some of the default empires to see if this made room for them to appear but all it does is leave gaps in the list where the empires were lol.
Please can someone tell me how to make the races importable into the game so that I can play against them rather than have to build them myself step by step by selecting empire type, ship type etc etc
Thank you so much

Re: Question about shipsets/new races
Start a game with random AI empires and they will be included.
If you want to force specific empires in a game, you have to load them from .emp files. Sometimes a shipset will come packaged with them, but more often than not, there are none. You can easily have SE5 generate them with your preferred game settings (tech start and racial points are key) as random AI empires, then set them to Human control on turn 1 and save the empires to file. Note that you will have to edit down the extra tech level or two added to each race at game start (usually just colonization tech) to actually use them with the game settings they were created with (same also applies to saving your human empire during the game).
