I surrender... Wait, what? |
Allllright, so im in my home system which is also home to another race. We've be going at it since we've met and its been about 5 or so years and ive pretty much ended their empire which only consisted of their homeworld. Now, i have run into a weird problem. First before capture their home planet, im playing, all is well and then BAM, next turn comes up to a screen saying all human players are dead, game over. Something along those lines, with a picture of a skeleton dude on a planet. It allows me to look at my logs and the system and appreantly ive surrendered to the empire i was about to crush, and they now controlled all my panets! I was shocked and it sucked cause i had to load....ugh
So i loaded to an earlier point, and played again, and this time totally crushed them. ALL they had left was a single ship that kept staying alive cause all my ships are equal to its ship speed so i cant catch the bastard. Im playing along, researching stuff to hopefully get faster than 13 movement spaces so i can catch this guy and end them forever. When all of the sudden upon my next turn BAM, ive surrendered AGAIN! To THEM! WTF? i read my messages, and get no kind of request to surrender. Even if i did, ignoreing it wouldnt mean i want to surrender. They dont try to get me to stop the war or anything. Just an occasional, "we will kill you" sort of message. Sigh, whats up? I imagine this is some sort of bug. Do any of you guys get this ever???
Im playing the stock version of the game with the 1.66 patch. So things should be kosher....right?....right???
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
Have you been telling them to surrender? If you are then it maybe that you are not telling them to surrender but you are surrendering to them. So it is always good to save the game before telling anyone to surrender.
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
Wow. I'm with Shadow hornet on this. Can you remember what you were doing?
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
Possible you somehow turned on the Politics Minister?
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
Ministers surrender for you? Great, another reason to hate them.
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
They shouldn't, but I've seen AI players surrendering in strange situations, and since the AI is basically just a regular player with all the ministers turned on. *shrug*

Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
A minister will not surrender for a player. It's scripted not to.
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
I had the same problem, though I dont think I figured it out about the surrender part, I was playn with a a lot more ai's so I got msgs a lot, but yeah every time I got to the same point Bam everyone died and it had the skelletons and the red background with the domed colonies...yeah then I started playn bm and I never got that but then again I havent played a super long game like the ones I had been playn, recently I have just been playn smaller maps
no one could figure it out last time, so just dont play stock...

I actually ran into this when I tried to surrender in the game which clears the plr_0001.plr file although I'm not sure if that is unintentional or a fix made to prevent people from undo'ing intentional surrenders.
For now, you can fix this bug if you did it unintentionally by deleting the .GAM file that SE V updates for each turn and its associated files and loading from the last turn. If you do not, loading from any turn before you surrendered will boot you to the main menu once the turn is processed because it cannot load the plr_0001.plr file.
Like I said, wait for someone els to read it and either say good idea/bad idea

Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
Technically, it's 1 creator and a bunch of impatient publishers.

Playing Touhou games (Go to this Wiki if interested. No, nobody else is that good/insane as that replay). No rush for SE
Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
I think the point you replied to is still valid when you consider why the publishers were impatient to start with. They need to prepare for the publication. That the creator could not have it out on schedule is hardly their fault.
(My one personal rule here is to NEVER directly critisize the creator out of respect so I'll go no further)

Re: I surrender... Wait, what?
never played stock past 1.44
