What's the largest tech gap that can be closed by analysis because I keep analysing the enemy ships and getting on returns, I'd presumed it could close a 2 level tech gap, maybe is it only 1 in BM?
If it is a 2 level gap then I'll keep at it and hope

If you can research this technology field, you will get it from analyzed component.
So to get eg. shields from analyzing, you need to research physics.
btw. sometimes i got multiple levels from one ship (probubly multiple components requiring same tech were present, eg. cargo and ordonance storage)

Yep. You can only get one tech level per component(type), but with several components there's a possibility you might get more than one.

Ah, nevermind, I'm just blind and didn't see the rewards come through, which they did, sorry to bother, though I suppose the question still stands over what the largest gap is.
