Data files not same as ones used to create game... - problem after reinstalling se5 |
Hi,
I had to format my HDD last night.
I installed se5, upgraded to v1.66, then installed BalanceMod v1.14 (which is what my current multiplayer game uses).
I downloaded turn 19 file, unzipped and placed in a 'savegame' folder (now empty since formatting).
Problem: when loading turn 19 game it complains that these are not the same files as used to create game, and refers me to contact game host for original files.
What does that mean? Do i contact the guy who started the game? Or PBW.CC ?
And why? I thought if just load turn 19, or any turn file then se5 should just open it and play the damn thing?
Ideas please?
thanks,
davor

I have no idea whether it is the cause, but perhaps you have not installed relevant shipsets again. And remember about those changes in *_AI_Main.txt files.

Re: Data files not same as ones used to create game... - problem
Are you certain it's the same version of the mod that was used to process that turn? If yes, then ask your host to send his data folder from his balance mod and it should correct any of your problems.

Ow.

Hey Davor,
It appears you got it working again. Sorry you missed a turn due to it. I hope it did not mess things up for you too much. Due to our time zone differences I did not get your e-mail until right before the turn autoprocessed.

I'd contact the guy that started the game first, even if only to let them know what's happened, then double check with them that you're using the same mod and game version as they are
