Space Dock suggestion

New Base type.

We have the current Space Stations with the options of adding enclosed shipyards within them. We need one of the more open 'Space Docks' that the ship can be seen through as it looks like arms wrapping around the ship.

Example: Space Dock from Star Trek

Is there a picture for this in the Multi-Media package?

I left the crew and life support requirements the same to represent the construction workers needs.
Lowered the construction base mineral cost, lowered maintenance reduction to 75% and require 80% of the hull to be cargo (Shipyards count as cargo).

Using Devnull's mod as a basis:

Looks like they are more commonly called "Drydocks"

What sounds better or more SEV'ish? Space Dock or Drydock?

I like it, a special Base Size for Ship Yards.

And actually, if you zoom in the picture of the Space Yard component it looks a lot like the star trek pictures you linked Smiling

Just as a point of interest, have you looked at the large portrait for the Space Yard component? It is basically what you describe.

By my opinion you need to add Requirement 6.
It should be
Requirement 6 Description := Space Docks must have a ship yerd component.
Requirement 6 Formula := Get_Design_Ability_Component_Count("Space Yard") = 1

Or just copy all abilities from Space Yard to your Space dock.
Then will be no "Drydocks" which can't build ships.
