What is the Best Formation and Strategy?

Depends on the situation; are my ships faster or slower than the enemy, weapon range comparison, do I have larger ships that need escort for defense against missiles, etc.

Generally it's just wall, arrowhead, and barricade for task force. For fleet formations, if I have multiple task forces, I don't think I have a favorite. I've used several different ones from time to time.

But that's just me.

I'm with you Vince, I use Wall pretty much exclusively.

None of the default formations are good enough. I made my own - a tight-packed umbrella. I can foresee an inverted, 'pincer' formation would be useful to write sometime too.

Strategy is on whatever I need doing - often I'll tweak the definition and sometimes I'll make a copy. Just so long as "break formation immediately" is off.
