Some Questions from a new player |
Hello,
Just created an account because I recently discovered SE5. And I must say I really, REALLY like this game.
The situation is this : I played a single game on a large map using v 1.20 (I think) and just recently upgraded to 1.66. I also just started a multiplayer game with a colleague of mine... So this is my second game of SE5, and with no prior exeperience in the SE family I guess I'm a real newbie
And I, off course, have several questions...
1) Stealing tech: how can you steal a tech from an enemy empire ?? I tried using 'intelligence' but when I get the message 'you stole xxx tech from xxx' I never see it appear in my tech list. So is it possible to even steal a tech from a rival empire ??
2) Invasion: Can I attack a planet that I (at this moment) can't colonize ?? I have an enemy sitting on a Rock planet (I myself have Gas Giant) in my system which I would like to invade (to take over that world) but can I land troops there (I would like to know before I start producing troops and such and then realising it is not possible)
3) How is migration working ?? At the moment (fairly new multiplayer game) I have my homeworld and 1 colony with 177 M pop. Every turn 40 M pop of my homeworld moves to the colony which suits me fine. BUT what will happen when I start a second colony ?? (for which I am already queue-ing a Colony Ship). Will the 40 M migration from my homeworld be split into 2 (for each colony 20M ??) or something else ??
Thanks for the info...
I'm sure I'll be back with more questions
Thanks
Re: Some Questions from a new player
1) There is an other possibility by useing intel. But I think it is a operation which requieres many intelligence points. I am not sure how the game decides, which operation it does...
Re: Some Questions from a new player
I believe you also get tech when an empire surrenders to you.

Re: Some Questions from a new player
2 ways; You can capture enemy ships and bring them to your shipyard and scrap/analyze them.
Seocnd way is to use intel operation 'Sabotage Empire Wide'. It al ldepends on how much intel points you got. The more you spend on it, the more effective.
You can ofcourse also 'sabotage ships & fleets', and capture an enemy ship that way, and then scrap & analyze it.

Re: Some Questions from a new player
Hi there
1) yes you can. capture ships and return to own shipyard then can analise the hull which dismantles the ship and can give you tech.
2) yes you can. use a cargo ship carrying troops with its design stratergy set to capture planet. then order ship to attack planet if you win the planet is yours to use?
3) sorry am not sure
Hope this helps
