So, I bought SE5 and have been enjoying playing while I have a few days off here. I am several years into a game (Balance Mod) and doing well - made contact with most races and am about to wipe one out, when all of teh sudden I get a screen saying, "All human players have been eliminated from the game. Thank you for gaming..." What the #%^$ is going on here???
I dismissed the dialog ad see that all of my systems (a couple dozen or so) are now controlled by the race I had down to one planet and was just about to crush! Is there some kind of thing that can make such a thing happen?!?

LOL, yep i fell for that trick too once, thought i was demanding their surrender, but really Demanded they take my surrender!!!

lol I edit my AI files so when my race says "I surrender" it comes up for me to see as "DONT SEND THIS MESSAGE!!!"
Did you save?
I always tell it to autosave every 1 turn

It happened to me once as I too was learning to play the game. Thought it was just one of those annoying bugs that happen when a bunch of coincidences happen all at once. Eventually, I found the "I Surrender Button" and deduced that I must clicked the WRONG surrender button. Live and learn... die in the process.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally surrender or something whilst sending/replying to a message?
It has happened before...
