Tech/Component Levels |
Hi,
I've been exploring this game the last couple of days, and I'm trying to get a handle on the tech tree and all the various advancements. I can't seem to find anywhere in the manual or in the game that shows exactly what the difference is in the different levels for various components. For example, exactly what is the difference in a lvl 1/2/3/4/5 Depleted Uranium Cannon? Is there a chart somewhere with all this information on it?
Re: Tech/Component Levels
I was just going to ask this, too. It would be nice to be able to see that armor level 5 increased armor by 3 over armor level 4, so we could actually see what we're getting for a level.
I'll take a look at the programs you listed. It would be nice if all that information were printed out for the stock game and available somewhere.
Re: Tech/Component Levels
this game is like makin a stew, you add a little of this and a little of that . sometimes the stew tatse like crap and you dump it and start over. i spend hours in that Combat Sim making and testing stuff. dont know what the numbers are just use what works. the combat sim alone is worth the price of the game . i like slowing that baby down to 1/4 and watch the different weapons fire at there differnt rate. and the explosions are great TOO!!

Re: Tech/Component Levels
If you look at Components.txt in the game's Data folder you can see the formulas used for the various damages, abilities, hitpoints, etc. Unfortunately the stock formulas are a bit confusing... but Suicide Junkie has written a nice Formula Grapher program:

In addition to a Value-At-Range Lister:

Which you can use to view formulas in slightly nicer formats!
Additionally, there's a nice SE5 Editor created by Devnullicus, which can be found in the Projects & Downloads sections of this very site!

The SE5 Editor has a graphing tool built into it (though it's unfortunately an unregistered shareware graphing tool, so there are ads which appear in all the graphs
)
