when i start sev i get nothing but a black screen and cant do a thing, is there a way around this, someone help!

Did you try turning your monitor on? 
Kidding aside, can you enter setup and change video memory to SAFE from AUTO?

Hmm, that's odd... is your screen resolution by chance set any lower than 1024x768? What are your system specs?
