Force one core for now

It seems that a fair number of people with dual core systems have had problems. For now, you should be able to force your computer to run SE:V on one core, thus working around the problem.

Range-Check Error & Dual Core
Soumis par zaedii le Jeu, 2006-10-19 10:42
Launch the game. Before clicking "new game" or whatever, open the task manager, processes tab, find se5.exe, right click it, click "Processor Affinity", uncheck all but one box, click ok.
I stopped getting range check error after this. I have to set affinity on several games that just don't work right with dual core.

Apparently, during the
Apparently, during the menu-splash screen, but setting affinity to only one CPU, SE:V won't crash, on my AMD64 X2 3800+, and not clicking anything during the "Strategy First" splash, nothing bad happens. It looks like there's some dual core conflicts, in my humble opinion. Best of luck working this out.
