Total Noob Question... |
I know I must be missing something really obvious, BUT...
How can I give a ship a movement order to a place in a different system? So far the only thing I've figured out is to "move to" a warp point and warp, then "move to" the next warp point in the new system. There HAS to be an easier way!!

Re: Total Noob Question...
You CLICK the move and warp buttons? For god's sake, use the keyboard shortcuts! You'll see, that will really improve your game experience.

Re: Total Noob Question...
Or at least, right-click context menu~
Though yeah, in my case I customised the keyboard shortcuts so I never would have to reach for the right-side of the keyboard (time taken to move hand from mouse to keyboard and back).

Re: Total Noob Question...
What about your other hand?
SEV is not Diablo 2... so I didn't change most of the shortcuts, only regrouped some of them, like the load/drop/recover orders.

Re: Total Noob Question...
I may not be in a position to look at my keyboard when I'm using my laptop. It happens when you touchtype on a non-default keyboard (i.e. attached by USB) while lying down in bed, with the laptop on an over-bed table.
Time taken to move my left hand over to the other side of the keyboard and find a key is painstakingly long in such situations.

Re: Total Noob Question...
My mouse has far too many buttons.
Thus, the forward/back buttons on it, which are program-selectable input, are now 'move' and 'warp'. This one change has drastically improved my game speed

Re: Total Noob Question...
Hahaha, nice. Though for me, if I had such luxury I'd be programming "Load/Drop cargo at..." as my first shortcuts.

Re: Total Noob Question...
If you optimize your keyboard shortcuts for the fastest experience possible you still will have long turn times
Groovy Baby Yeah!

Re: Total Noob Question...
I ususally just click the move button then click the system i want to go to and the spot in the system, and the ship goes there auto warping as it goes. If the system is unexplored then i click the warp button and then click the entrance warp hole to the system in question. hope that helps
