Changing hex grid 'height' in sector view |

I was wondering if it was possible to either change the hex grid height, or whether the model files (Which I admit I haven't yet looked at very hard) have an easily-modifiable way of having their center-of-model lowered, such that the models sit with their equators (Or gaseous/asteroid equivalents) in line with the hexagons?
The idea being that tilting the hex grid down to a near-paralell angle will no longer cause depth-of-field issues for the game of 'which hex has the planet in it'...

Gotta give you credit, Reiver. That's a simple solution to an otherwise complicated problem.
I love those.

Object offset positioning is defined in XFile_Classes_Stellar.txt:
Starting Position Offset X := 0
Starting Position Offset Y := 0
Starting Position Offset Z := 0
You can change the dimensions of hexes in Settings.txt, though the game automatically calculates the "width" and "height" for you:
System Hex Side Point Width := 20.0
Hexes do not have a dimension along the z axis.
