I've heard that cultural achivements don't do anything yet... is that true?

If so, i'm guessing that of this following format:

Name := Mathematics Achievement
Description := The evolution and creation of mathematical models of nature.
Picture Number := 10
Portrait Filename := Event_PopulationHappy.jpg
Large Portrait Filename := LargePortrait_Event_PopulationHappy.jpg
Maximum Level := 20
Number Of Requirements := 1
Requirements Evaluation Availability := AND
Requirements Evaluation Allows Placement := TRUE
Requirements Evaluation Allows Usage := TRUE
Requirement 1 Description := Empire must have at least tech level 1 in Mathematics.
Requirement 1 Formula := Get_Empire_Tech_Level("Mathematics") >= (1 + ([%Level%] - 1))
Number Of Abilities := 1
Ability 1 Type := Point Generation Modifier - Research
Ability 1 Description := Research generation throughout the empire increased by [%Amount1%]%.
Ability 1 Scope := Galaxy - This Player
Ability 1 Range Formula := 0

The forum is truncating my first post and I can't make it stop!

I wanted to say that A) I was guessing the "ability 1 range formula" was at fault for it not working at all, if it isn't, and B) ask WTF the descriptions weren't more usefull to figure out what each one does.

So, C) I'm going to release a modded file with the description being more usefull, anyone have a place to host it?

What were you going to add to the descriptions?

Leasure activities improves reproduction, mathematics research, etc etc. I don't see it when I right-click on an item in game.

It is listed, but not made implicit where it's from...

It's listed in the quadrant-wide modifiers for ability summary screens but it doesn't say where it is from. In the Balance Mod though I added additional descriptors to tell you where you ability modifiers are from.

Well, not being able to tell WHAT a research item is untill after I've done it doesn't strike me as fun, either.

That said, your balance mod is looking BETTER and BETTER... just gotta wait for the patch so I don't get CTD'd during turn processing (with reloads doing the same thing Sad )

I shouldn't have to go to the help menu to find that out -- it should be available on right-click in the research screen.
