Shields Down |

Request:
In choosing a damage level for a tactic, I would like my ships to stop shooting when the enemy shields are down, so that I can board.

This Makes Sense

This makes sense, a standard order in alot of books and shows is to make the other ship to drop shields so that you can board and capture the ship.

I'd have to third this

I'd have to third this request, I've had enough of my Boarding ship destroying the enemy before it gets closer.
Mind you, I am still yet to research "shield depleaters", which should just depleat their shields so boarding can take place.

Hvae you tried taking manual control of the battles as an interim solution?

Weapon choice

Sometimes a weapon choice box comes up, but I haven't figured out how to make that happen on purpose.
How do you get the select weapons box to come up?
There are two attack buttons next to each other on the control panel. The left one (shortcut 'A') will cause the selected ships to fire all guns at the target (even point-defense weapons, bleh). The right one (shortcut 'Z') will bring up the weapon selection window.

Damage Levels
(can't edit first post?)
The tactics window lets you choose to stop shooting when all engines are gone, or when all weapons are gone, or at various percentages of damage.
When All Sheilds are Down for boarding actions would be a good addition.
