How about an expansion that adds "gate" like technology that opens access to other galaxies in a given game ?

Soumis par tkobo le Ven, 2007-10-26 18:50 Space Empires V General

Make it so,if the tech is learned you can open a gateway to other galaxies with which you can than interact with.

Make it so it was possible for another galaxy(or more) to also be able to open gateways to yours. As a very rare random event(or even time scheduled as an option)

Throw in other new techs to keep the tech tree in play and you'd greatly increase the playtime I can get from the game and increase the fun potential.

uhm, this one galaxy on huge is already very big, to handle a second galaxy would be just very confusing.

Um.... don't you mean accessing an extra quadrant?

A galaxy can have billions of stars...

Accessing a second quadrant might be problamatic at best... like having twice as much for the game to keep track of, which would mean even longer turn processing times once that second quadrant gets occupied...

Might be better to simply waiting to see if SE V gets improved to handle many more star systems effectively without problems...

It would be interesting to have links between very small satellite or dwarf galaxies (such as the Small Magellanic Cloud) but this can sort of already be done in the game already if you want to have a game with oasis-like strategies.
