Just an odd little something |
This is just an odd little something that has always bugged me. The game I started last night, my race is on a 'optimal' planet... that's -127 celcius... I know I'm not the smartest guy, but that seems a little off for a race born from the humans. I've noticed that the temp, gravity, and other one I can't remember are just randomly generated. Anyone know a way of fixing it to logic amounts... where an ice world won't be over 200F and a 'earth' like world won't be -150F or colder?
EDIT: I'm using Balance Mod 1.10
Re: Just an odd little something
In FQM/BM, each planet type has its own temperature formula. Ice planets are colder than gas, which are colder than rock/moon. Rock/terr are human-likeable, generally, and rock/ven are bloody hot. Distance from the center of the system matters, as does the number of stars. Gravity depends on the size of the planet, with gas giants set to higher gravity ranges. Conditions are totally arbitrary and unrelated to these other flavor-text only attributes, sadly.
Re: Just an odd little something
Well, at least this means that I'm less likely to find another planet that was below absolute zero using BM...found one like that in stock. I was almost afraid to colonize it.
Re: Just an odd little something
The actual temperature, gravity and radiation a planet has no effect on the conditions deadly-optimal. Using climate control or nature shrines, will not change the basice statistics of the planet, but the conditions will gradually improve toward optimal.
I do wish that the system display showed conditions with a (xx%) so I can see at a glance the actual % difference from optimal.
Re: Just an odd little something
i too wish they have a system closer to the on Stars where temp/gravity/radiation affected the planet conditions. Is that modable??

Re: Just an odd little something
The temperature is somewhat random and doesn't correlate with the conditions.
