I know what i don't like about SE V |
I finally figured out what it's been bothering me about SEV.
The space backgrounds in the system view and in the sector view. They are just empty, lifeless, etc...
Now a plea: can anybody replace those backgrounds with some decent ones? I have no artistic skills whatsoever, this is why i'm asking of there's somebody who can make some cool backgrounds like the ones in GalCiv II

How can you turn off the background stars?
Already found the answer: insert a complete black 512x512 bitmap picture as SkyboxEmptySpace.bmp in the stellar picture folder!
And I do agree: it looks much nicer in my opinion and you can see small objects much better.

Ctrl-S during the system view will toggle the star background. I don't think it works in tactical combat though, and your method might be handy there.

I like just turning them off. This is space, its not supposed to have a runny nebula in each system! Oi.
