Had it for awhile and got a question |
Ok, so I got my copy, but I have two questions actually. Is there an editor like the one that was with SEIV? Also, how in the heck do I get 255 solor systems! I've created countless maps and the most I've seen so far is 68. I have the size of galaxy on large and that's the highest it goes. OK, thanks.

By default it suppossed to do 60-100 when choosing large, though I've notice a huge issue when it goes over say 70. With all warp points connected nothing gets connected...
If you want change the settings.txt as he said to 200 that will make it go from 60-200 instantly if you want to alter the range you can... I'm not sure which file I saw that in...
Though you WILL also want to alter the systemnames.txt to add some more names or else after 105 or so all other systems will be named nothing, which can be a bit confusing. Planet IX has constructed... Um which IX of the other 95 systems was that?
Re: Had it for awhile and got a question
I highly recommend the latest version of Fyron's Quadrant Mod, which makes for more interesting (and far prettier) systems. Combined with high # of systems values in settings.txt, it hugely improves the playing field. Note that there is a setting for max # of systems and a series of settings for min/max systems in a small/med/large quadrant - change the values in both places.
Merge in Unnamed's AI mod and you have a single-player game worth playing.

1. No map editor yet, but
1. No map editor yet, but there may be one released in the future.
2. Edit settings.txt to allow more solar systems; there are some lines near the top which determine galaxy size. You will probably not want to edit settings.txt in the stock files though; you will want to create a mod (a folder under SE5\GameTypes) with a copy of the Data directory under it with your changes to settings.txt and the requisite mod-info files (which can be found in SE5\GameTypes\Standard SE5 and edited from those).
