Does anyone have the race Flags and Portraits downloaded? |
I had a moment of inspiration and want to add the Race Flags and Portraits to the Wiki. This is to facilitate the start of new games where players can go to choose their Flag and Race portrait. I want to add a picture of each flag and race to the wiki.
This will give a consistant list that everyone can use here after to avoid duplication in their games.
Races will have a number set and Portraits will use letters.
Flags 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.
Races A, B, C, D, AA, BB, CC, etc
You start a game and choose your set.
I select: 4B
I'm using race flag 4 with race portrait B.
This way everyone knows what I have and we can avoid duplication as we list this in the PBW game forums.

Also, if you have SE5 installed you should have all the stock ones there, and AFAIK there are *very* few custom shipsets/races/flags installed on PBW... so why would anyone need to email you anything?
And the races have names, after all... you could just say "using the Norak shipset with the Neutral #7 race pic and the Xiati flag" or something...

The problem i run into is when i'm creating the Empire. Basically, I don't know what Flag or Shipset is the Xiati?
I want to have a place where you can go and look to see what flag is the Xiati, etc.

Ideally, the PBW code would be updated to allow the player to choose a ship set and flag that would be displayed with their other info. This was something that was going to be incorporated into PBW2, which kind of went defunct before it got started. Not sure how hard it would be to implement with the current PBW system.

Hmm... what about shipsets? It's more important to not have a duplicate shipset (IMO) than it is not to have a duplicate race pic...
