Quick question about the AI |
Like the subject says, just a quick (and simple), question about the AI that I've been wondering. In a mod that includes improved AI (such as the balance mod), do custom DLed races/shipsets use stock AI or the improved AI from the mod? I haven't played the game in ages so can't remember... waiting on a new good mod to play. I loved the now dead IRM mod, now waiting on Captain Kwok's Nova!

The Balance Mod has 3 default AI types - a defensive, moderate, and aggressive version.

Unfortunately no, the AI would be/is incapable of handling finite resource games. The problem is that you, nor the AI, can't turn off resource production facilities. If this ability ever gets added, then perhaps it could be scripted to handle it well, but that's a crapshoot.

It depends on which AI file the [RaceName]_Main.txt (in the race's folder) file tells the game to use. If it's set to the default AI, it will attempt to use the mod's default AI. If it's set to the custom races own AI, it will try and use that AI, which may or may not be compatible.
