How do you play SEV multiplayer? |
Hello everyone! I've been reading several multiplayer AARs around here and they really seem much more fun and interesting compared to my usual games against the AI. How can I play multiplayer? And how do you play? I'm sure not everyone lives in the same timezone so how do you guys manage?!?!
Anyway, I haven't played any multiplayer games but I can manage the AI... which isn't much of a challenge I know. I'm willing to play and learn, I don't mind getting creamed several times I just want decent players to play with while I catch up slowly one game at a time.

How do we start a game with a mod that isn't listed in the dropdown, though? I tried starting a game with DevnullMod, but there was no way for me to enter that in the GameType dropdown.

You have to request installation of the mod, on the PBW forums under "Admin Requests." At worst, you can process the turns offline and upload them manually for a not-installed mod...

Hi all inter galactic species...
Sorry for being the idiot in this quadrant but I'm a real newby that wants to play online so I read what I could find how to do that and got to your posts. I clicked on PBW link and was taken to a site that reads:"Welcome to Space empires IV play by web". On my planet in our language IV means 4 and I would like to play SE 5 online. How do I go about doing that?

PBW supports SE5 as well as SE4 now; it's just that nobody got around to updating everything

If you are looking for a some fast 1v1 games you could also join EOTU and I'll set you up with a game...I believe ekolis needs someone to fight with in EOTU

Yup Though since the 1.58 patch is out now and Balance Mod 1.10 is coming tonight hopefully, it might be reasonable to wait until those versions are up on PBW... hopefully they'll be up shortly!

I will wait until the 1.10 Balance Mod is done, but meanwhile, where can I get the "rules and procedures" for playing a PBW game?
